Health-supporting foods can help your body deal with chronic stress, support your mood, sleep and energy levels.
Food is information for your body and we explore ways to make sure that your body is getting the right sort of information and nourishment to support you and your needs. For example, ensuring your diet has adequate nutrients that can be depleted by chronic stress and poor sleep.
This package has been created to help you create delicious meals that are quick to prepare and bursting with nutrients, but most importantly, foods that you love and that fit in with your lifestyle. If you eat out a lot, we can look at where you eat we can discuss choices you have and ways to navigate this without additional stress. If you live with people with different food requirements we can look at how to incorporate and adapt recipes to avoid cooking different meals for multiple people.
This package is about more than food though. Together we will look at your nutrition, lifestyle, habits and sleep patterns and work together to find health supporting solutions to create long term sustainable habits.
It includes a review of any of your current medications and any supplements you might also be taking to ensure no contraindications.
While I always work from a food first basis, equally I recognise the usefulness of supplementation and testing when appropriate. If I feel therapeutic supplements would offer you support I will make recommendations. Supplementation can often help provide you some relief from some of your symptoms that gives you space to start to make some changes to your food intake & lifestyle.
There is, however, no pressure to purchase supplements from me, but if you do I offer a 10% discount. If you decide to purchase elsewhere, please let me know the details prior to purchase so that I may ensure that they are suitable for you.
Occasionally I might ask for your permission to write to your GP or healthcare practitioner to request them to run some tests for you. Sometimes I might recommend a private, functional test if I believe this is suitable for you.
I always take into account your budget and your preferences though and any recommendations will always be explained to you. Please kindly note that the costs of supplements and any testing are not included in this package price.
There is a comprehensive intake which an be adapted to suit your needs. The forms are online (on your secure client portal) so you can take your time and save your progress as you go.
If you find online forms difficult – let me know and we can find a way to gather the required information that works for you.
The package includes an initial consultation 60 mins and a follow up consultation 45 mins. These can be adapted to suit your needs: eg shorter consultations times. If 60 mins feels too long, this can be broken up into smaller chunks. Whatever suits you.
If you feel you would like more support you could consider the Power Up Add Ons: discounted consultation bundles in 15mins, 30 mins and 60 mins sessions.
My cancellation policy does not apply for OCD Excellence clients, if you need to cancel at the last minute I understand and just ask that you kindly let me know as soon as you can.
I want you to be able to engage in your consultations, so if you’re booked in and then don’t feel you can cope for any reason, just let me know and we can reschedule.
Sometimes just knowing that you can postpone a consultation can be enough to take the pressure off. Also, if during a consultation you feel you need to stop, we can. Just let me know and we can reschedule the remaining time.

Our gene expression is influenced by nutrition and other environmental factors such as sleep, stress and physical activity. Understanding our genetics can help us understand where extra support may be required. Genetic test results, however, should not be considered in isolation and it’s important that results are analysed within a full support package.
Genetic testing alongside functional testing will ensure your personalised plan is truly bespoke and based on a comprehensive understanding of your body and its systems.
When selecting genetic testing it’s vital to chose a reputable company. With this in mind, I have trained with Lifecode GxⓇ and DnaLifeⓇ and can advise you which of their genetic test would be most suitable for you.
Discover how genes impact: food response – gluten (coeliac disease), lactose (found in dairy), and caffeine; microbiome diversity; nutrient need – vitamin A (beta-carotene & retinol), folate (B9), vitamin B12, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin K, and glutathione; metabolism – blood sugar control (insulin), appetite (leptin), inflammation and omega-3 fatty acids; and circadian rhythm – early bird or night owl predisposition.
Metabolism describes the chemical reactions in the body involved in nutrient assimilation, utilisation – fat / sugar burning or storing – and removal. Presenting 6 interconnected pathways: appetite regulation, nutrient sensing, sugar metabolism, fat metabolism, cholesterol and bile, and mitochondria and inflammation. To help manage your personal risk of diabetes, chronic fatigue, weight gain, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative conditions and optimise health span and longevity.
Steroids are hormones derived from cholesterol that act as chemical messengers in the body. They are involved in the regulation of many physiological processes in men and women, such as the function of the reproductive system, metabolism, inflammation and immune system. This test analyses genes involved in the synthesis, signalling, transport and metabolism of corticosteroids and sex steroids hormones.
Methylation is critical to keeping your body and brain biochemistry in balance. Common genetic variants (SNPs) can impact methylation and increase susceptibility to systemic imbalances and chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, sub-fertility, mood swings, depression, dementia, fatigue, autoimmune disease, allergies and premature ageing.
Histamine intolerance is a toxic response by the body resulting from an imbalance between accumulated histamine and the capacity to break it down. Symptoms of histamine toxicity may mimic an allergic reaction including skin irritation, gastro-intestinal upset, respiratory distress, headaches, insomnia and anxiety.
Oestrogen and androgen imbalances can contribute to sub-fertility, PCOS, endometriosis, menstrual irregularities, excess facial hair (women) or breast tissue (men), osteoporosis, cardio-vascular disease, blood clots, acne, sexual disfunction, mood swings, poor memory, weight gain and hormone sensitive cancers.
Genetic variants (SNPs) can impact phase 1, 2 and 3 detoxification pathways and contribute to symptoms such as headaches, muscle aches, fatigue, allergies, skin disorders, weight gain, bloating, acid reflux and heartburn, excessive sweating, chronic infections, sub-fertility, decreased libido, poor mental function and lower stress tolerance.
Neurotransmitters are chemicals that enable communication within and between neurons in the mind and body. Symptoms of neurotransmitter imbalance can include: mood imbalances, depression, mania, attention deficit and obsessive compulsive disorders, addictive behaviours, motor control disruption, anger, aggression and restlessness.
The APOE4 genotype is a well known risk factor for late onset Alzheimer’s disease and cardiovascular diseases. This test also analyses genes involved in the three subtypes of Alzheimer’s – i) inflammatory, ii) toxic and ii) atrophic – described in the BredesenTM protocol. Understanding your risk enables a personalised approach to managing it.
The thyroid is an endocrine gland in the neck that produces triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). Thyroid hormones control the metabolism of almost every cell, with wide- ranging metabolic, developmental and cardiovascular effects. This report analyses genes involved in the thyroid hormone lifecycle: synthesis, activation, transport and metabolism. It also examines genes that confer susceptibility to inflammation and autoimmunity.
Whether you are an elite athlete, a ‘weekend warrior’, or just want to be more active, the athlete DNA test will enable you to optimise: 1.Training – cardio-vascular adaption, strategic fuelling and structural strength; 2. Recovery – build resilience and reduce injury risk; and 3. Performance – balance stress and stimulation – to achieve your personal best.
Nutrigenomics is the study of interactions between genes, nutrients and health. A nutrigenomics test examines DNA to identify variants that can impact your health, but can be supported by nutrition and other lifestyle factors.
Nutrigenomics enables a preventative, personalised, and proactive approach to health. The test results can inform everyday decisions such as eliminating some foods or adding others – instead of a ‘one-size-fits all’ approach.
A nutrigenomics test can be done at any age, from one day old to a hundred years young. The earlier you test the sooner you can tailor your diet and lifestyle to work with and support your genetics.
The genotyping data is more than 99.9% accurate. However, the interpretation of the results can vary from company to company. Lifecode Gx qualified nutritional therapists and nutrigenomics specialists ensure accurate, evidence-based, interpretation of results alongside clinically and practically relevant recommendations. This knowledge empowers you to make informed choices.
A simple cotton swab is provided to collect loose cells from the inside of your mouth. It is sent off to a lab for analysis, and the results are ready two to three weeks later.
No, you don’t need do the same test again – as your genes are fixed – your genetic code doesn’t change throughout your lifetime. You may choose to do additional tests in the future to assess different genes.
Lifecode Gx is the UK’s leading provider of clinically relevant, nutrigenomics testing services, applying the latest nutrigenomics research to enable a personalised approach to health. We work exclusively with health professionals to ensure clients get the most benefit from their tests.
Lifecode Gx offers a range of 10 DNA test panels – Nutrient Core, Hormones, Methylation, Histamine Intolerance, Oestrogen Balance, Detoxification, Nervous System, APOE, Thyroid Balance, and Athlete.
At Lifecode Gx, data privacy and protection is our priority. Your data is safe, secure and confidential.
